FEAR OF WINE- AN INTRODUCTORY GUIDE TO THE GRAPE BY LESLIE BRENNER
My crimson reflection in the glass does not show the despair of the heart you’ve crushed, alas my spirits are aware
Leave me alone- let me breathe you say, decanting roughly But your body is full, you have my seed you cannot serve me so abruptly
You gave in to the waiters friend- I popped across the table he stuck it in just like the rest, whenever he was able He has no screwpulls I declare the way he twists and turns and torque’s you He brings you such a nice bouquet but he only wants a corkscrew
So now you leave me aging here you know I’m not a quitter Should you not finish me tonight tomorrow I’ll be bitter
